I was born to two loving parents and an amazing brother, who remains my hero. I spent many of my "formidable" years in Quaker School (no, I'm not Quaker), where I learned the values of silence and listening. Early on I played travel soccer and took gymnastics classes wearing very bright clothing. My dad wouldn't let me listen to Cyndi Lauper. My brother always asked me to stop singing. My mom and I would sing in the car. As I got older, one of my favorite games was to sing to the radio dissonantly to annoy my mom. I was a little bugger.

My high school years: I modeled my high school career after an older kid who is now a Broadway Baby. That meant captain of Varsity teams, President of the Student Council, and leads in school musicals. Over achiever. He may find this out, and I'll tell it to his face. We had a dress code: I had to wear a jacket and tie every day. Turtlenecks became a luxury. Yes, turtlenecks we could wear in the winter and that liberty became one of the greatest things. My personal style was grossly retarded by this dress code. I once got in trouble for having a "bi-level" haircut. Can you say "fade" Mr. Principal?  Can you say "My hair does not do what yours does, sir?"  Okay, now I'm mad again as if this was right now. I forgive you, Mr. Principal.

After I graduated high school, I went to Cameroon, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire where I did home stays with all sorts of folks. That experience changed my perception of the world and my place in it. My bubble expanded. A month later, I went to Dartmouth College, which was very pretty. I started studying Modern Dance with Marianne Hraibi, who was the first teacher I felt truly inspired by as an artist. I danced all four years in college because of her. She played "Frozen" by Madonna in class which I thought was so cool. I finished Dartmouth and came to New York.

In New York, I made up my own curriculum to continue my training. I studied with Ron Van Lieu, who is also a huge influence in my development as an actor. I spent 2 years with the Chautauqua Conservatory Theater Company which we then lovingly referred to as Juilliard summer school. I made a lot of wonderful friends.

Now, my real formidable years: I'm having fun. I want to go rock climbing and swing on a zip line. I love my friends. I love the people I 'work/play' with. I love my family. I dedicate my performance to my magical friends, my beautiful parents, my amazing brother, loving sister-in-law, and inspirational nephew. I am so grateful for all they share, teach, mirror, and remind.
